The 33rd Grand Auction weekend November 6-9, 2024

2023 grand auction event

Join us for an exciting weekend as we raise funds for educational charities!

The Grand Auction is the largest and most successful wine auction on the eastern seaboard and we are looking forward to another amazing event this year. Grand Auction activities begin at noon with the preview reception featuring gourmet cuisine prepared by eight of the region’s top chefs complemented by exquisite champagnes and wines.

In addition to rare and highly collectible wines, guests can bid on special travel itineraries ranging from long weekends to exotic vacations, dining at many of the area’s best restaurants, luxury merchandise and unique lifestyle packages. The festivities take place on the grounds of Southside Marina overlooking Rudee Inlet in Virginia Beach. We hope to see you there!

Featured Artist Sergio Albiac

Sergio Albiac experiments at the visual intersection of generative computer code, deep learning and traditional media. Albiac writes computer programs that transform reality to express ideas about identity, beauty, chance and human emotions. His work revolves around the universes we create in our minds and the tensions that arise when confronted to our realities. The illusion of control in a world much governed by randomness and the existing negotiation between reason and instincts are recurring inspirational themes. The final result of this artistic process is not always preconceived: it can be a painting, a gicleģe print, a video art piece, a generative portrait or an interactive installation running on the cloud.

Albiac does not feel constrained to a single medium or style. He uses either traditional or new media to express his artistic vision. Sergio wants to stimulate alternative answers to old questions or better, brand new doubts.

Albiac splits his artistic practice between experimental personal projects, commissioned artworks, gallery/exhibition work and sales to collectors. His work has been exhibited in many countries, including Spain, USA, Italy, Germany, Singapore, Brazil, Australia, Ireland, Luxembourg and others. Sergio Albiac lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
