Jamie Pollack

Jamie Pollack, DWS, is a trained Sommelier and, for the past four years, a Wine Specialist with Zachy’s Wine Auctions, one of the world’s premier fine and rare wine auction houses. With eight and a half years experience studying and working in the wine industry in New York, New Zealand and Burgundy, Jamie brings a breadth of knowledge to the world of wine.

Wine education in Manhattan led to certifications from the American Sommelier Association and the Court of Master Sommeliers and her Diploma in Wine and Spirits from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust that built Jamie’s foundation and expertise in viticulture, vinification and wine tasting. Positions in fine wine distribution and then retail wine sales led to a Wine Director post at The Carlyle, a New York institution, and then a coveted position as Sommelier at three Michelin starred Le Bernardin.

Along with wine, travel is a great passion and in 2007 the two went hand in hand leading Jamie around the world working the harvest as a cellar hand both in Central Otago, New Zealand at Amisfield Winery and in Vosne-Romanee, Burgundy at Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg. This made real all those years of studying the New World versus Old World style of wine production.

Following the vintage Jamie joined the team at Zachys Wine Auctions and in her position as Wine Specialist she has flourished working with consignors and buyers alike, helping build the auctions with cellar evaluation and assessment as well as auction promotion. For the last year Jamie has been part of the Zachys team of auctioneers and enjoys the job of “closing” the wine sales and engaging with the audience, her fellow wine lovers, her clients, her friends.
